Cascade 20L Bead Bath with 15L Lab Armor Beads
Cascade 20L Bead Bath Bye-Bye Water Bath! Traditional water baths are associated with messy condensation and the growing of harmful germicides. Cascade Sciences Bead Baths are the next generation of a decades-old lab bath technology. With the included thermal beads, this 20L Cascade Bead Bath operates in a constant, stable, broad temperature range between -80°C to +180°C. The bath itself delivers exceptional temperature uniformity up to 80°C. Zero Evaporation Saves Energy In a water bath, the water is constantly evaporating. As water evaporates, it cools. Because evaporation has a cooling effect, a water bath must heat more frequently. A bead bath uses 4X less energy when set to 65°C and 2X less energy at 37°C. The bead bath also provides more constant temperature with fewer temperature fluctuations during operation. Cascade Sciences Bead Baths and Thermal Beads and Made in the USA and NRTL Certified Cascade Sciences Bead Bath Features: High Thermal Efficiency Microbial/Biofilm Resistant Cross-Contamination Resistant Minimal Cleaning No Refilling No Rack or Accessory Needed Angled Incubation Possible Constant Volume – No Evaporation Non-Corrosive Compatible with non-water tight vessels Independent build-in over-temp, burn-out protection No Warm Up Mobile or Field Use Compatible Non-Combustible Thermal Beads Replace Water and Ice Lab Armor™ Thermal Beads are small, dry, metallic thermal beads designed to replace water in laboratory water baths and ice in ice buckets. Their high thermal conductivity technology is patented and improves energy efficiency of standard water baths by over 50%. Improve lab cleanliness when using thermal beads in place of fluid in water baths. Thermal Beads – Recyclable Lab Armor™ Thermal Beads are formed from solid recyclable metal. The raw material used in Lab Armor™ Beads can be reused in other products. Lab Armor™ Thermal Bead Features: Metal composition with smooth round surface Moisture and gas impermeable High thermal conductivity Working temperature range is -80°C to 180°C Non-toxic, non-vaporizing material Recyclable! Multiple uses – ice replacement Frequently Asked Questions Are Lab Armor™ beads autoclavable? They are not. The steam and pressure ruins the surface of the beads. We recommend a dry heat sterilization: 180°C for 2.5 hours. For a quick touch-up we recommend spritzing with 70% ethanol and stirring. If some debris falls into the beads we recommend placing them in a pail with water and a small about of Dawn, rinsing out multiple times, and then putting through the dry heat sterilization process. How long can I use Lab Armor™ Beads under normal conditions?Under normal conditions, Lab Armor™ Beads should last the life of the bath. If used incorrectly or if not maintained and cleaned properly, the surfaces of Lab Armor™ Beads can become damaged. We recommend that you avoid strong detergents, acids and bases. Bleach, for instance, may tarnish the surface of the Lab Armor™ Beads, reducing its fluidity and overall performance. Can Lab Armor™ Beads be used as an ice bath? There are a number of different ways to use thermal beads. Many customers place containers of beads in their refrigerators, incubators and ovens. When creating an ice bath, be sure to keep the beads dry. We recommend separating the beads from the ice packs, which accumulate condensation. Some kind of mesh wire or fabric helps with this as well. Also, any condensation that builds on the surface of the beads will be able to drip through the mesh. It’s important to keep the beads from soaking in water for extended periods of time. Besides attracting contamination, excessive water contact will tarnish the surface of the Beads and reduce the fluidity of the bath. Also, as an alternative to ice packs, dry ice can be used to make a colder bath (<0ºC).

FYRA for End of Primary Drying Detection | Vacuum Drying Monitoring | for Lyophilization| CE, UL, CSA
FYRA for End of Primary Drying Detection. This bundle is set up to allow for vacuum drying applications like freeze-drying and vacuum ovens to help determine the end of drying. Will help you detect when most of the water or residual solvent from a product has been removed or the end of primary drying has been reached in a vacuum drying application. Background on How this FYRA End of Primary Drying package works: When a freeze dryer is equipped with both a thermal and direct measurement, these sensors can be utilized to indicate the end of primary drying (Source). Step One: Clean process documentation | Get a baseline Characterize the convection-enhanced Pirani and the capacitance manometer (in this case the DCP Quantum) against each other in a dry, empty and refrigerated system. The freeze dryer is turned on, as per the manufacturer’s operator manual, with nothing on the shelf. The shelf temperature can be left at room temperature, and if so the cold trap, the condenser, and the vacuum pump should be on and running for a period of time The vacuum oven or freeze dryer is allowed a period of time to become stable in this condition and the Pirani and capacitance manometers are read. The difference in their pressure readings in a dry, empty and refrigerated freeze dryer will be relatively small (mT to 10’s of mT) when the system is working properly. DigiVac will NOT calibrate these two gauges against each other. There may always be slight differences in their readings due to their difference in design. The difference in pressure (ΔP) between these two gauges, when dry, empty, and refrigerated, indicates how close they come together when there is little to no water vapor in the gas mix over the product. Step 2: Drying with Product The intent of primary drying is to maximize the sublimation rate within the product. As such the gases in the chamber have a high water vapor content. The Pirani sensor will read a higher pressure than the capacitance manometer. As freeze drying progresses the amount of ice converting to vapor through the sublimation process will decrease as the product becomes lyophilized from the top through the bottom of the product. Eventually, the Pirani and capacitance manometers will approach the ΔP that was established in a dry, empty and refrigerated system. Approaching this ΔP value indicates that the end of primary drying has occurred. The DigiVac FYRA controller has a rich remote command-line interface which enables the user a high degree of remote control and monitoring from any computer when communicating through the USB port. Calibrated—Every FYRA is calibrated and pretested under actual vacuum against a NIST standard (Need NIST traceable documentation? The Prodigy
THE PRODIGY Description: 24CFM Single Stage 7.5HP 220V – 3 Phase (Single Phase Inverters Available) Inlet: 1.5” Triclamp Outlet: 1.5” Triclamp Weight: 750lbs Max bearing pressure: 250psi Max discharge pressure: 150psi Max delta pressure: 10x Many factors go into the rate of recovery on an extraction system. Not only is the pump size important, but also the evaporation rate of the solvents. If the solvents aren’t able to evaporate fast enough there will be nothing for the pump to transfer. Larger pumps have the capacity to transfer solvents faster, but only if the solvents are in an evaporated state. Because these pumps are so large they have a tendency to outpace the evaporation rate of most extraction systems. This lowers the inlet pressure (and the collection vessel pressures) which aids in speeding up the evaporation rate. Propane weighs less per gallon than butane (4.2 vs 4.9), however the vapor pressure is higher which generally results in a higher inlet pressure, and therefor a faster recovery per pound of gas used. These pumps are sized large enough to recover on the largest extraction systems with the highest evaporation rates, or can be used on multiple extraction systems at one time. For example this pump was used to recover 5lbs of butane on a 6” vessel with 70° of temperature. The process took ~12 minutes. However increasing the process to 3x 6” vessels with 5lbs of butane each(15lbs total), the process also took ~12 minutes. This is because the pump exceeds the evaporation rate of a single 6” column at 70° by more than 3x. Because the pump exceeds the evaporation rate a vacuum is pulled against the collection vessel, which in turn speeds up the evaporation rate. However once vacuum equilibrium is achieved, increasing the pump size will not speed up the process, but will allow for larger (or multiple) processes to be preformed in the same time frame. The next tab shows a table of recovery capacity with regards to inlet pressures. Higher inlet pressures result in substantially faster recovery times. Higher inlet pressures can be achieved by evaporating solvents faster by higher temperatures in collection vessels, or more surface area in collection vessels (larger diameter vessels, falling film, etc). Inlet Pressure LBS per Minute Butane LBS per Minute Propane -13 psi (Vacuum) .48 .35 -10 psi (Vacuum) .96 .7 -7 psi (Vacuum) 1.92 1.4 -4 psi (Vacuum) 2.88 2.09 0 psi 3.84 2.79 15 psi 7.69 5.59 29 psi 11.53 8.38

BVV Mineral Oil 7 White "Clear" (USP/NF Food Grade)
BVV Mineral Oil 7 White NF (USP/NF) Food Grade White mineral oil can be used for many applications. Industrial, cosmetics, and food processing. Our Mineral Oil can be used in direct skin and food contact. Our oil is colorless, odorless and tasteless . This mineral oil can act as a non-conductive coolant, thermal fluid, lubricant, release agent, binder, defoamer, protective coating or float, sealing and polishing agent, dust control agent, and more. It has applications in three main areas: The industrial sector Cosmetics Food processing While those three sectors use this element most widely, it has a variety of other applications. White mineral oil is a standard household item, but has also found uses in some niche markets. The substance is versatile and has many properties making it useful in a range of applications. Food Grade Certified to FDA 21 CFR 172.878 BVV Mineral Oil 7 White NF - COA BVV Mineral Oil 7 White NF - Spec Sheet BVV Mineral Oil 7 White NF - SDS What is a food grade mineral oil? To use mineral oil in food preparation, it must be classified as a food-grade mineral oil. This is vital for health and safety as well as legal compliance. The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has established standards any 'food-grade' substance must meet for both direct additions to foods and uses that may result in incidental contact with food. The requirements for purity, amount used, and processes vary based on how one uses mineral oil. The United States Pharmacopoeia (USP) and the National Formulary (NF) first created guidelines for the use of mineral oil in manufacturing. The FDA requires that food-grade mineral oil meet USP XX test requirements for readily carbonizable substances, which USP released in 1980, and USP XVII test requirements for sulfur compounds. It also needs to meet the specifications in Volume 45 of the Journal of the Association of Official Analytical Chemists. Mineral oil used as a lubricant for food-processing machinery must be registered with NSF International, an independent global food safety organization, as lubricants for incidental food contact to be used in food-processing plants under the jurisdiction of the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA). Other organizations oversee mineral oil use in other industries. For example, the Association of American Feed Control Officials (AAFCO) governs its use as a dust control agent for animal feeds. This classification is different, however, from food-grade mineral oil. Mineral oil used in the production of pharmaceuticals must be considered pharmaceutical-grade. The cosmetics and medical industry use highly refined mineral oil to avoid irritating the skin, eyes, and other body parts. Mineral oil chemical formula Mineral oils coming from crude petroleum oils vary in their make-up and contain complex structures. They include mixtures of straight and branched-chain paraffinic, naphthenic, and aromatic hydrocarbons. Alkanes, which are acyclic saturated hydrocarbons, are a significant component. They are made up of hydrogen and carbon atoms in a tree structure where all the carbon-to-carbon bonds are single. Mineral oil typically contains between 15 and 40 hydrocarbons. Mineral oil attributes Understanding the physical and chemical properties of mineral oil will help you to determine how best to use it in your industrial, food-processing, or other processes. These attributes may differ depending on the type of mineral used, how you use it, and whether any other substances get added to the oil. Mineral oil is a clear, colorless, and odorless liquid. This lack of strong physical qualities helps make it valuable in a variety of applications. Manufacturers can add it to products without changing their color, scent, flavor, or other crucial aspects. Mineral oil is also generally regarded as safe for human consumption, but in limited amounts. These features enable its use in the food processing and pharmaceutical sectors. Refined mineral oil does not clog pores, which allows for its use in cosmetics. Mineral oil has a density of 0.85 grams per milliliter (g/ml), and its specific gravity is 0.845 - 0.905. Its kinematic viscosity is greater than or equal to 38.1 millimeters squared per second (mm2/s). It is insoluble in water. The substance has an initial boiling point of 424.4 degrees Fahrenheit (°F) and a boiling range that extends up to 1189.4 °F. Its flash point is 275.00 °F closed cup and 380.00 °F open cup. It has an auto-ignition temperature of 500 °F, and its heat of combustion is 31.5 kilojoules per gram (kJ/g). As mentioned above, mineral oil has an NFPA flammability rating of one, a health rating of zero, and a reactivity rating of zero, meaning it is not a high fire risk. One of the most beneficial attributes of white mineral oil is its lubrication capabilities. This is the primary reason it has so many industrial, mechanical, food-processing, and medical applications. This property plays a crucial role in many manufacturing and food production processes. Its ability to transfer heat and its non-conductivity enable mineral oil's use as a coolant in a various electronic and mechanical equipment, as well as in industrial processes. Its resistance to water and other liquids, as well as insolubility in water, allow mineral oil to function as a sealant and binder in a variety of products. Safety Mineral oil is not regarded as an especially dangerous substance, but like all chemicals, users should handle it with appropriate care and precautions. A Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) for mineral oil may include the following information: Eyes: Mineral oil may cause eye irritation if it comes into contact with them. Flush eyes for several minutes and seek medical attention. Skin: It may cause skin irritation if prolonged contact with skin occurs. Remove contaminated clothing and wash affected areas or shower. Get medical attention if irritation persists. Inhalation: Inhaling mineral oil mist may irritate the respiratory tract and lungs. If this occurs, move to fresh air. Get medical attention if irritation persists. Ingestion: Ingestion can cause gastrointestinal irritation and result in nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea. If conscious, rinse mouth and drink water. Do not induce vomiting. If irritation persists, get medical attention. Mineral oil is combustible but has a low flammability rating. Having a National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) rating of one, means mineral oil must be preheated to ignite. Mineral oil has an instability rating of zero, which means it is stable even under fire conditions, and a health rating of zero, meaning it does not create any additional hazards beyond normal combustibility. You can extinguish a mineral oil fire using water fog, foam, dry chemical powder, or carbon dioxide (CO2) but should not use a water jet as this can spread the fire.If you encounter a spill of mineral oil, keep unnecessary personnel away, wear protective equipment, and absorb the spill with an absorbent material before cleaning the affected surface to remove any residue. Applications for mineral oil Mineral oil is inert, which makes it easy to use. Both consumers and businesses in a range of industries use mineral oil for a variety of applications. The three sectors named above primarily use mineral oil, but it appears across a wide range of industries and applications. Here are some of the most common uses in the industrial, personal care, and food production sectors. Use in cosmetics You can find mineral oil in many different cosmetics products including baby lotions, ointment, make-up remover, sunscreens, hair conditioner, and even tissues. Mineral oil is an ideal base material for many of these products because it is inert, colorless, and odorless. Mineral oils may appear in cosmetics as liquid oils or solid waxes. Some kinds of mineral oils are comedogenic, meaning they clog pores. Because of this, the mineral oil used in skincare and cosmetic products is noncomedogenic and does not clog pores. In fact, cosmetics companies often describe mineral oil as having moisturizing, protective, and cleansing properties for the skin. Additionally, these oils are used to give cosmetic products film-forming and water-repellent features as well as increased firmness. Use in food processing The food processing and preparation industries frequently use mineral oil. Sometimes, manufacturers add mineral oil directly to food. At other times, mineral oil assists in the production process but is not added to food directly. As mentioned earlier, all mineral oil that may come into contact with food must achieve classification as food-grade, and it must be used in accordance with all relevant laws and regulations. Food producers use mineral oil as a: Binder, release agent, or lubricant in bakery products, dehydrated foods, egg white solids, and in tablets or capsules for adding nutrients, flavoring, spices, or for use as a dietary supplement Release agent, sealing agent, and polishing agent in confectioners Protective coating on raw fruits and vegetables Defoamer in vinegar and beet sugar production Dough divider Dust control agent for grains. Binder, release agent, and lubricant in the manufacturing of yeast Mineral oil plays a role in some of the non-food products used to prepare, serve, and eat food. In these situations, the oil should also be food-grade. When applied to cookware, bakeware, and cooking utensils, mineral oil prevents food from sticking to them. People rub it onto the surface of wooden cutting boards, bowls, and utensils to prevent them from absorbing water, which can damage them. Mineral oil also prevents wood-based cooking tools from absorbing food liquids and odors, which makes cleaning easier. It acts as a lubricant for food processing equipment as well. Industrial, mechanical, and electrical uses Mineral oil serves to assist with various industrial, mechanical, and electrical purposes. It is an effective lubricant for industrial equipment and often functions as a processing aid. It is an element that helps make up various substances used in industrial processes, such as lubricants, greases, dyes, polymers, and surface treatment products. Mineral oil also acts as a thermal fluid or non-conductive coolant in various electric components. In refrigerators and oil-based electric heaters, mineral oil is used as a cooling liquid. In switchgear, it serves as an insulator and a coolant to diffuse switching arcs. In the production of plastics, mineral oil is used to control the melt flow rate of finished polymer and act as a release agent. Automotive equipment frequently uses mineral oil, primarily as a component in hydraulic liquids in automotive suspension, as well as in lubricants in brake fluids and motor oil.

The Prophet
The Prophet The Prophet is the industries largest and fastest LPG recovery pump. This mammoth pumps at 28 cfm (3.33x the size of a Corken T91) while running quietly at only 68db. Unlike the other recovery pumps available on the market this pump features a dual stage design which allows for greater delta pressure between the inlet and outlet of the pump. This allows for higher output pressures (propane) and lower inlet pressures (vacuum). The ability to pull vacuum against the inlet lowers the boiling point of the recovering solvents allowing them to vaporize faster, speeding up your recovery times. In addition, this pump can be used to pull initial vacuum in the extraction system. 28CFM Dual Stage 10HP Inlet: 1.5” Triclamp Outlet: 1.5” Triclamp Weight: 865lbs Max bearing pressure: 250psi Max discharge pressure: 150psi Max delta pressure: 10x Many factors go into the rate of recovery on an extraction system. Higher inlet pressures can be achieved by evaporating solvents faster by higher temperatures in collection vessels, or more surface area in collection vessels (larger diameter vessels, falling, etc). Inlet Pressure LBS per Minute Butane LBS per Minute Propane -13 psi (Vacuum) .56 .41 -10 psi (Vacuum) 1.12 .81 -7 psi (Vacuum) 2.24 1.63 -4 psi (Vacuum) 3.36 2.44 0 psi 4.49 3.26 15 psi 8.97 6.52 29 psi 13.46 9.77

J-KEM DVR-200-EV Digital Vacuum Regulator
J-KEM DVR-200-EV Digital Vacuum Regulator The DVR-200-EV has the same stainless steel pressure transducer inside, but the vacuum valve is outside of the controller. The value of this design is that the vacuum valve can be cleaned or replaced much easier than the valve in the classic DVR-200. Some applications, like distillations or stripping large volumes of solvent, can leave residues inside the valve which causes it to fail. Replacing the vacuum valve is the most frequent repair that J-KEM performs on the DVR-200. Replacing the valve in the classic DVR-200 is difficult and must be returned to J-KEM for repair. With the EV version, the user can disassembled the valve and wash it out, or even replace it in under 5 minutes. For large distillations or botanical applications, J-KEM recommends the DVR-200-EV. No Mercury 100% digital pressure entry and control Wetted parts are 100% stainless steel and Teflon Vacuum ramping feature eliminates bumping Resists: All organic solvents Acids Bases Water Specifications: 100 watts. Siemens Touch Screen Controller with Explosion Proof Housing for Centrifuges
Siemens Touch Screen Controller with Explosion Proof Housing for Centrifuges Disclaimer: When bought separately and NOT with our Centrifuge this item will have no warranty and all sales are final. Industrial Centrifuges are used to separating liquids from solids and this style of centrifuge excels at alcohol extraction by forcefully separating the alcohol from the biomass. Controller: This centrifuge is controlled by a Siemens Smart Line PLC. This PLC is pre-programmed to have both a soaking cycle, shown as AGITATION TIME on the screen, and a spin drying cycle, made of 4 separate specifications. SPIN TIME 1 through 4 allow the user to choose four different speeds and however long they wish to be at each speed. All four parameters labeled as SPIN TIME combine to make one spin cycle when the Spin button is pressed. To change a parameter, simply tap on the number to be changed and type in the desired value when prompted on screen. Any number displayed within a white box can be adjusted. SPEED SET: This number represents the RPM as a percentage of the machine max speed. In this case the max speed is 1500RPM. SET: This column will dictate how long the centrifuge spins for a cycle or at a specified speed within the cycle. For the Agitation Time, the Set value will control the total length of the agitation cycle. The FWD/REV TIME will control how long the basket will spin in one direction before reversing to cause agitation. The “current” value will only count up while at the set speed for the agitation cycle. CURRENT: The “current” column will give a readout of how long the basket has been spinning at the set speed. This value will not increase while the centrifuge is increasing speed between SPIN TIME values. When running the agitation cycle, it will be complete when the count of seconds in the CURRENT reaches the value in the SET column. The centrifuge will stop automatically. For the spin cycle, the centrifuge will go through all 4 set SPIN TIME values, the CURRENT column will only begin to count when the centrifuge is at the set speed. The cycle time will not account for time taken to get up to speed. Temperature: Shows a live readout of the temperature inside the centrifuge.Inlet Valve and Drain Valve: These are two pre-programmed buttons that can be used with electronic valves. This unit does not come standard with these valves, but leaves the option open for them to be added.
