Vacuum Chamber Safety Guidelines

Failure to not perfectly center the vacuum chamber lid to the vessel before initiating a vacuum will result in the chamber IMPLODING, causing potential harm to the user, and damage to the product and/or surrounding area. Ensure the lid is ALWAYS centered on the vessel prior to pulling a vacuum on the unit.
Imploded chambers are not covered under the manufacturer's warranty; no replacements or compensation will be issued for imploded vacuum chambers.

Be sure to have a safe and organized work environment, free of obstacles and possible hazards, in an open well-ventilated area. NEVER operate equipment in a confined space, indoors, or in areas with minimal flow of fresh air.

All vacuum chambers MUST be operated on a FLAT surface. Be sure to keep the equipment out of reach of children and pets.

Prior to operation, please take necessary safety precautions by wearing safety goggles, a face shield, gloves, protective clothing, and a respirator. Never stand next to or look directly inside any vacuum vessel without wearing proper safety equipment.

ALWAYS inspect all equipment prior to usage. Look for any physical damage, such as cracks, dents, or stress fractures. Should the chamber or lid have any visible damages, DO NOT USE.

During assembly & disassembly, please ensure all components are directed away from your face and other extremities.

NEVER leave a vacuum chamber or vacuum pump unattended.

DO NOT MOVE vacuum chambers while under a partial or full vacuum operation; the shocks and vibration can cause structural damage and/or failure to the vacuum.

Note: Vacuum vessels are NOT rated nor designed to be operated under positive pressure.

Acrylic and Polycarbonate are NOT resistant to solvents, alcohols, infusion/stabilization resins, liquid plastics, and hydrocarbons: such as butane and propane. Small concentrations will result in lid degradation depending on the material. For further assistance, please review the user manual.

Best Value Vacs (BVV) Vacuum Chambers

Chambers are not compatible with stabilization resin (i.e. Cactus Juice™, Gator Venom™, Minwax™ etc.), alcohol, ethanol, acetone and acrylic based monomers or polymers.

The lid may only be cleaned with soapy water.

This chamber provides NO resistance to alcohol, stabilization resins, acetone, acrylate and polar solvent (butane) applications.

**Failure to operate this chamber for the given applications voids the manufacturer warranty and all liability by all sellers and retailers.

BVV Glass Vac (Glass Lid) Vacuum Chambers

Chambers are compatible with all solvents and stabilization resins.

We only recommend and warranty GlassVac® chambers for resin infusion and wood stabilization.

The lid may be cleaned with any solvent or cleaning agent.

For prolonged stabilization exceeding 15 minutes with the pump running, we require the use of a cold trap to condense stabilization vapors prior to them hitting the pump.

Extractor Disclaimer

All extractors are tested under a vacuum and at pressure prior to shipping. Upon delivery and before EVERY use, the customer must pull a full vacuum and pressurize the system to 90PSI with inert gas prior to operation to ensure assembly is correct and that the unit is functioning. Failure to do so could result in potential solvent leaks, injury, or even death. We are not responsible for failure to test the unit prior to operation.

If a leak is detected after following these guidelines, depressurize the system and inspect the area of the leak for any problems with seals or defects/damage to equipment. Once a problem has been identified and resolved, pressurize the system and check for leaks again.

If the problem CANNOT be resolved, do not use the system and please contact Best Value Vacs immediately at (331) 281-0154.


Extractor Safety Guidelines

WARNING!!!

Contents may be under positive pressure before, during, and even after operation has been completed. NEVER open or disassemble equipment without ensuring that ALL valves are open to relieve any residual pressure. Even if a gauge indicates that the pressure is zero, please ensure that all valves are 100% open before disassembly.

Be sure to have a safe and organized work environment, free of obstacles and possible hazards, in an open, well-ventilated area. NEVER operate any form of extractor, including open blast, closed column, or closed loop systems, in a confined space, indoors, or in areas with minimal flow of fresh air. NEVER operate extraction equipment near electrical sources: including outlets, pumps, lights, or heaters.

Prior to operation, ensure that you and the extractor are grounded. Static electricity can result in a potentially dangerous situation. Be sure to take extra precaution during winter months and in dry climates where static electricity has a greater potential to occur. Our tripod and quad-pod design can facilitate improving safety/ grounding.

Prior to operation, please take the necessary safety precautions by wearing safety goggles, a face shield, gloves, protective clothing, and a respirator.

ALWAYS inspect steel components for any potential structural issues. Be sure to inspect all sight glasses/ viewing ports for stress fractures, chips, scratches, and deterioration. Inspect all clamps for thread stripping or stretching. If any of these issues are found, DO NOT USE and contact the manufacturer immediately. If you need to contact the manufacturer, please have the product description available in order for the customer service representative to assist you.

During assembly and disassembly, ensure that all components are directed away from your face and other extremities. ALWAYS pay special attention to the gauges on the system; NEVER assemble or disassemble components while under vacuum or pressure.

NEVER place extractor tubes or Butane tanks containing any form of solvent near exposed wiring, non-insulated motors (non-explosion proof/sparking motors), open flames, or in the refrigerator/freezer. Please be sure to use static dissipative equipment. Failing to follow these instructions may result in a potential explosion.

Never bring concentrates or extracts indoors until the vacuum purging of the solvent has been completed. Never place extracts in purging vessels until all liquid solvents, such as butane, alcohol, and propane, have outgassed into the atmosphere (outdoors). Failing to do so could result in personal injury and property damage.


Glassware Disclaimer

Notice to customers: all units are inspected for broken glassware or parts before leaving BVV™. If the unit arrives damaged (this does not include minor imperfections or scuffs in glassware), the customer MUST contact BVV™ within 72 hours from carrier delivery to file a damage claim. 

If the customer does not contact BVV™ within 72 hours from carrier delivery, then BVV™ cannot issue any replacement(s) or compensation for the item; a new purchase will need to be made for a replacement. 


Glassware Safety Disclaimer: BVV™ is not responsible for the failure of glassware which must be inspected before and after every use because it may eventually develop imperfections or damage through normal usage, mishandling, and stress caused by temperature variations.

If an imperfection or damage is noted while inspecting the glassware DO NOT use the glassware because it can fail, which can cause bodily harm or damage to the surrounding area.
