Separatory Funnel with PTFE Stopcock Separatory funnels are used for liquid/liquid extractions and separations of non-soluble mixtures. The less dense liquid will move towards the top, while the denser liquid will move towards the bottom. This allows for draining of the separate liquids via the stopcock at the bottom. Simply load your crystallized extract into the top vessel and place it in a heated oven at 120-140F for 4 hours to sweat the sauce from your crystals.
