1LB MK-V Orthrus Bidirectional Flow Closed Loop Extractor

***Note: Solvent not included with systems unless ordered separately. Any order with butane WILL NOT SHIP EXPEDITED.*** ***DISCLAIMER: This unit is intended for LEGAL purposes only, to be used in accordance with local laws and ordinances. Use only in extremely well-ventilated areas. Check with your local fire marshal for guidance when operating indoors   1LB MK-V Orthrus Bidirectional Flow Closed Loop Extractor (System comes with 1 yr. limited warranty)   The 1lb Bi-Directional closed loop increases efficiency by utilizing both a bottom and top solvent input. By using a bottom flood on the first wash, you ensure all material has seen solvent. This method preventing channeling through the material. Finish the run with a top flood input to ensure all residuals have been washed from the material. Oil bearing solvent is collected in the collection base under the material column. Once collected, solvent is distilled and recovered, leaving the oils in the collection base. This is a passive unit that utilizes pressure differences created by manipulating temperature to move solvent.   Extractor Configurations: Explorer: Our standard bi-directional extractor model.  Comes with a welded bottom base and standard LP tank.  This model provides all the benefits of the Orthrus design without any bells and whistles.  The Explorer model is perfect for those looking to get the bi-directional performance but have a budget. Explorer models can be upgraded after purchase.   Professional: This model features upgrades to help produce a higher quality extract.  Solvent is entered into the system through an injection coil.  This coil is chilled with dry ice and alcohol, dropping solvent temperatures to dewax inline. Fats and waxes are not soluble when solvent temperature is subzero, so chilling solvent on input is the simplest way to achieve high clarity extract.  The Professional also comes with a removable bottom on the collection base. This makes removal of extract after the run as easy as possible.  High pressure clamps give greater solvent compatibility, allowing propane to be used.   Elite:  The Elite series is our fully upgraded Orthrus model.  The elite series adds a level of dependability needed for those seeking to produce the highest quality extracts.  The elite series comes with all American instrumentation valves by SSP, an AVCO ultra-low temperature inline ball valve and jacketed collection base.  Full dewaxing is guaranteed by combining both an injection coil and sleeved column.  Both units are packed with dry ice, making both solvent and material sub-zero temperatures.    The jacketed collection gives precision during recovery, allowing a heated fluid to be circulated around the base.  This method keeps temperature both accurate and consistent.  *NOTE* This model requires a heater circulator or chiller     Explorer Professional Elite BVV 316SS Full Bore Valves Welded Bottom Base Ball Valve BVV 316SS Full Bore Valves Ball Valve HP Clamps Injection Coil w/ Hose Splatter Platter Base SSP Valves Injection Coil Dewaxer AVCO Ball Valve HP Clamps Jacketed Base/Platter Unit Includes: Collection Base 6"x6" Welded Bottom Base 6"x6" Open Spool Assembled 6" bi-flow lid 3"x24" Material column with reducer & top cap 3" filter plate kit 1.5" Solvent input manifold 1.5" Ball Valve Mastercool 6LB Solvent Recovery Tank (2) 1/4" 48" High Pressure PTFE Braided SS Hose 3/8" 48" High Pressure PTFE Braided SS Hose (2)6" clamps, (3)3" clamps and a (3)1.5" clamp with gaskets (2)3" Gaskets w/ filter Instruction Manual   Specifications: 3"x 24" 304 Stainless Steel Material Tube 1lb (450g) 316 Stainless Steel Fully Encapsulated Miniature Ball Valves System Rated to 150PSI Multiple port connections for _" 316 Stainless JIC 37 Degree 304 Stainless Steel Base Container 6" diameter by 12" tall Tri-Clamps at all interfaces make for a high pressure, easy clean unit. Nitrogen gas is a chemical element and a diatomic molecule with the chemical formula N2. It is a colorless, odorless, and tasteless gas that makes up about 78% of Earth's atmosphere by volume. Nitrogen gas is an essential component of the air we breathe and plays a crucial role in various natural processes and industrial applications. In its gaseous form, nitrogen is composed of two nitrogen atoms tightly bonded together by a strong triple bond. Due to its stable molecular structure, nitrogen gas is relatively inert and does not readily react with other substances under normal conditions. What Is Nitrogen Gas Used For? Nitrogen gas has a wide range of applications across various industries and scientific fields due to its inert nature, abundance, and unique properties. Some of the key uses of nitrogen gas include: Food Preservation: Nitrogen gas is used to create controlled atmospheres in food packaging to extend the shelf life of perishable products. It helps prevent the growth of spoilage microorganisms and maintains the freshness of packaged foods. Laboratory Applications: Nitrogen gas is used in laboratories as a carrier gas for chromatography, as a purge gas to remove oxygen and moisture from sensitive reactions, and for preserving and storing samples. Welding and Metalworking: Nitrogen gas is employed as a shield gas during welding and metalworking processes to prevent oxidation and maintain the integrity of metal surfaces. Electronics Manufacturing: In electronics manufacturing, nitrogen gas is used to create inert environments that prevent oxidation and improve the quality of soldering and component assembly. Cryogenic Applications: Nitrogen gas, when cooled to extremely low temperatures, becomes liquid nitrogen. It is used in cryopreservation of biological samples, freezing and storing biological materials, and in various cryogenic cooling applications. Fire Suppression: Nitrogen gas is utilized as a fire suppressant in certain situations to reduce the concentration of oxygen, effectively suppressing fires and preventing explosions. Oil and Gas Industry: In the oil and gas industry, nitrogen gas is used for pressure testing pipelines, purging equipment, and enhancing oil recovery. Pneumatic Systems: Nitrogen gas is used in pneumatic systems for inflating tires, powering tools, and operating machinery. Food and Beverage Industry: Nitrogen gas is used to dispense draft beer, wine, coffee, and other beverages, creating a foamy head and enhancing the presentation. How Can I Pressure Test My Extractor With Nitrogen? Pressure testing your extractor with nitrogen involves using nitrogen gas to check for leaks, verify the integrity of the equipment, and ensure its safety before performing actual extraction processes. Here's a step-by-step guide on how to pressure test your extractor using nitrogen gas: Materials Needed: Nitrogen gas cylinder with appropriate regulator Pressure gauge PTFE tape (thread seal tape) Bubble solution or soapy water Safety goggles and gloves Wrench or spanner Steps: Preparation: Ensure that the extractor is clean and free from any residual materials. Check all fittings, connections, valves, and joints for signs of damage, wear, or corrosion. Replace any damaged components. Make sure the extractor is properly assembled and closed, including any access ports or lids. Safety Precautions: Wear appropriate safety goggles and gloves to protect your eyes and hands. Work in a well-ventilated area to prevent the buildup of nitrogen gas. Regulator Setup: Attach the nitrogen gas cylinder to the regulator and secure it tightly using a wrench. Set the desired pressure on the regulator according to the recommended pressure for your extractor and testing requirements. Sealing Threads: Apply PTFE tape to the threads of the fittings and connections. This helps create a better seal and prevents leaks. Connect Nitrogen Gas: Connect the regulator outlet to the appropriate inlet or access port on the extractor using a compatible hose or tubing. Pressure Testing: Slowly open the nitrogen gas cylinder valve to allow gas to flow into the extractor. Monitor the pressure gauge and allow the pressure to build up to the desired test pressure. Once the desired pressure is reached, close the cylinder valve to stop the flow of nitrogen gas. Leak Detection: If pressure is not maintained apply a bubble solution or soapy water to all the fittings, joints, and connections. Inspect the extractor for any bubbles forming, indicating potential leaks. Pay close attention to areas where bubbles appear, and tighten or adjust fittings after depressurizing the system as needed to eliminate leaks. Release Pressure: Slowly release the pressure from the extractor by gradually opening the cylinder valve. Once the pressure is completely released, disconnect the nitrogen gas source. Final Inspection: Reapply the bubble solution or soapy water to the connections that were adjusted. Verify that no bubbles form, indicating that leaks have been successfully resolved. Documentation: Keep a record of the pressure test results, including the test pressure and any adjustments made. Repeat if Necessary: If any leaks were detected and resolved, repeat the pressure test to ensure all leaks have been eliminated. Pressure testing your extractor with nitrogen gas helps ensure the safety and integrity of the equipment, minimizing the risk of leaks during actual extraction processes. Always follow proper safety guidelines and manufacturer recommendations when working with nitrogen gas and pressure testing equipment. How Do I Perform A Nitrogen Assisted Extraction? Using nitrogen to inject butane into a closed-loop extraction system requires careful consideration and adherence to safety protocols. Nitrogen gas can be used to pressure test the extraction system, assist in transferring butane throughout the system, and assist in the process of adsorbent filtration/color remediation. Here's a step-by-step guide on how to use nitrogen to inject butane into your closed-loop extraction setup: Materials Needed: Closed-loop extraction system with Pressure Relief Valve Nitrogen gas cylinder with appropriate regulator Pressure gauge Nitrogen-compatible hose or tubing Butane tank Butane-compatible hose or tubing Safety goggles and gloves Wrench or spanner Steps: Safety Precautions: Wear appropriate safety goggles and gloves to protect your eyes and hands. Work in a C1D1 environment to prevent the buildup of flammable gases. Preparation: Ensure that the closed-loop extraction system is clean, properly assembled, and free from any residual materials. Regulator Setup: Attach the nitrogen gas cylinder to the regulator and secure it tightly using a wrench. Set the desired pressure on the regulator based on the recommended pressure for your closed-loop system and extraction process We recommend utilizing 25-50 PSI to perform solvent transfer throughout the system. Nitrogen Line Connection: Connect the regulator outlet to the nitrogen-compatible hose or tubing. Connect the other end of the hose to the vapor port or accessory port to the recovery cylinder of your closed-loop system. Butane Line Connection: Connect the recovery cylinder to the closed-loop system using a butane-compatible hose or tubing. Ensure that the recovery cylinder is securely connected to the system, properly sealed, and grounded. Pressurizing the System: Slowly open the nitrogen gas cylinder valve to allow nitrogen gas to flow into pressurize the recovery cylinder. Monitor the pressure gauge and pressurize the recovery cylinder to the desired pressure for injecting butane. Nitrogen gas is used to create pressure that forces the butane into the system. Injecting Butane: Open the valve on the recovery tank to allow the butane to flow into the material column of the closed-loop system. The pressurized nitrogen gas assists in transferring the butane through the system and into the collection base of the system. Monitoring and Safety: Carefully monitor the pressure levels on both the nitrogen gas cylinder and the recovery cylinder. Venting: Once the injection and extraction processes are complete, close the valves on both the nitrogen gas cylinder and the recovery tank. Prior to applying heat to your collection base and starting your solvent recovery procedure first slowly vent the nitrogen from the collection base directly into the ventilation system of your C1D1 Booth.  Monitor the pressure gauge and sight glass of the collection base closely. Slowly and incrementally vent the nitrogen from the system until the solution begins to boil this is an indication that the nitrogen filling the headspace of the collection base has been removed and the butane is filling the remaining headspace. Additionally,  if the pressure starts to increase after an incremental venting procedure that is a good indication that the nitrogen has been released from the system and the butane is building pressure within the system. If the tank PSI remains the same after a venting procedure then nitrogen is most likely still within the system. Recovery: Once the nitrogen has been successfully removed from the collection base proceed to vent the nitrogen from the empty recovery cylinder and pull the recovery cylinder and the associated lines under vacuum. With the nitrogen now removed from both the collection base and recovery cylinder you can now proceed with your recovery procedure  Disconnect the nitrogen gas line and the butane line from the closed-loop system. Properly store the nitrogen gas cylinder and the recovery tank according to safety guidelines. Using nitrogen to inject butane into a closed-loop extraction system requires a solid understanding of the equipment, processes, and safety procedures involved. Always refer to your closed-loop system's manufacturer guidelines and follow best practices for safe operation. How Much Nitrogen Pressure Do I Need For Adsorbent Filtration/ Color Remediation? The nitrogen pressure required for adsorbent filtration and color remediation can vary depending on the specific equipment, setup, and the type of media you are using. It's essential to follow the manufacturer's recommendations for your particular closed-loop extraction system and adsorbent filtration equipment. In general, nitrogen gas can be used to apply pressure to assist in pushing the solvent through the adsorbent media, enhancing the filtration and color remediation process. The pressure you need may vary based on factors such as the viscosity of the solvent, the flow rate, the type of adsorbent media, and the desired results. It's recommended to start with a moderate nitrogen pressure and gradually increase it while monitoring the flow rate and effectiveness of the process. Generally, pressures in the range of 20 to 50 psi (pounds per square inch) are commonly used for adsorbent filtration and color remediation. However, this pressure range can be adjusted based on your specific equipment and requirements. Keep in mind that using too high of a pressure can potentially cause channeling, uneven flow, and limited retention through the adsorbent media, affecting the quality of the filtration process. It's essential to strike a balance between achieving effective filtration and avoiding excessive pressure that could lead to inefficient results or potential safety risks. It's best to perform small-scale tests before scaling up to ensure optimal results and start off slowly when using nitrogen pressure for adsorbent filtration and color remediation.

  • Purpl Scientific Pro Kit

    Purpl Scientific Pro Kit

Purpl Scientific Pro Kit  A hand-held solution that turns the user’s smartphone into a robust potency measurement system.   What's Included: Purpl Pro instant cannabis potency measurement device 1x White Reference Target (calibration puck) 1x Sample Holder 1x Charging Cord (USB type C) 1x Cleaning Brush 1x Grinder + Funnel Convenient Carry Case CULTIVATORS Cultivators turn a seed into a sellable crop, and have many decisions to make each step of the way. But the end goal is to make a consistent, high quality product that commands the best profit. Big agriculture uses a lot of analytical technology to achieve the same ultimate aims, but not all of that technology has made its way to cultivation. Purpl is based on the same technology used in agriculture (and pharmaceuticals) to instantly provide chemical information that helps optimize your crop. With Purpl, that technology allows you to instantly measure potency in dry flowers, and soon in growing plants. You might want to measure buds from different parts of the same plant to optimize your lighting setup. Or know which part of the field is producing your desired potency target. We’re sure you can come up with multiple other ways a Purpl would help you optimize your production.       DISTRIBUTORS Distributors connect the cultivators to the retail dispensaries, with an impetus to get best pricing and a consistent product. Lab tests are available on the crop, but with a natural product there is a lot of variation, and that batch being bought or sold might not be the same as what was tested. Purpl helps provide transparency on both sides of the transaction, and it uses technology that’s been used by big agriculture for decades to ensure crop quality and consistency. Instantly measuring potency allows distributors to verify the consistency within a batch, or how it measures up to the last batch, to maximize negotiating power and maintain a quality product.       MANUFACTURERS Infused product manufacturers require instant insight into potency and composition. Purpl PRO provides that intelligence. While lab tests are necessary for the end product potency, consistent quality is still difficult to achieve if there’s any variability in the feedstock. Purpl PRO allows MIP producers to measure the exact batch in much the same method as how big agriculture and food manufacturers use this same technology. Dial in the precise dosage by knowing exactly what’s going into each batch, so you can be sure the final product will be on spec.         EXTRACTORS Extraction strips away from the plant matter, allowing the creation of purified waxes and oils. Consistency is paramount in order to create a successful product. However, extraction has many variables, from the incoming trim feedstock to the pressures, temperatures, and many other variables. Labs can verify the potency of the finished batch, but it’s a lot more helpful and cost-effective to be able to make instant decisions to optimize each batch and avoid any unexpected surprises. Purpl PRO lets you verify the potency of the specific trim you’re using, to help you custom-tailor each batch. Purpl PRO will soon be adding extract potency measurement, to allow the same closed-loop controls that are used in other industries, like big agriculture, food production, and pharmaceuticals, who already benefit from this same technology. DISPENSARIES   Dispensaries are the retail link in the industry, sourcing product from distributors or cultivators for sale to their customers. The goal is repeat business and increased sales, which hinge on consistent, quality products. Lab tests provide a general idea of the crop, but in a natural product there’s a lot of variation from bud to bud, plant to plant. Purpl allows dispensaries to instantly test potency in flowers, and soon in extracts. That means knowing exactly what is being purchased, to negotiate the best pricing with suppliers. And customers will have the ability to measure exactly what they’re buying, so they know exactly what to expect. CONSUMERS As a consumer, you want to know what you’re getting. Maybe it’s the maximum effect of a higher Flower strain you’re after. Or perhaps you want to ensure there’s no Flower in your CBD. Knowing the exact potency is key to appropriate dosing. Even when you see the lab-tested potency for the product you bought, the results were determined from another flower or plant, and as natural product, each plant and even flower has a lot of variation. Purpl PRO has transformed the technology used for decades by big agriculture, into an affordable, easy-to-use device that lets you test exactly what you’ve got, so there’s no more worrying what to expect.

The material column is fitted with a nitrogen assist port, which helps ensure no solvent gets stuck with the material.  The jacketed collection gives precision during recovery, allowing a heated fluid to be circulated around the base.  This method keeps temperature both accurate and consistent.  *NOTE* This model requires a heater circulator or chiller   Explorer Professional Elite BVV 316SS Full Bore Valves Welded Bottom Base 0.9CF ECO Oven V7S 7CFM Single Stage Vacuum Pump BVV 316SS Full Bore Valves HP Clamps Injection Coil w/ Hose Splatter Platter Base 0.9CF ECO Oven V7S 7CFM Single Stage Vacuum Pump SSP Valves Injection Coil Dewaxer AVCO Ball Valve HP Clamps Jacketed Base/Platter Nitrogen Assist 0.9CF NEO Oven V7S 7CFM Single Stage Vacuum Pump Unit Includes: Collection Base 6"x6" Welded Bottom Base 6"x6" Open Spool Assembled 6" bi-flow lid 3"x24" Material column with reducer & top cap 3" filter plate kit 1.5" Solvent input manifold 1.5" Ball Valve #30 LP tank (2) 1/4" 48" High Pressure PTFE Braided SS Hose 3/8" 48" High Pressure PTFE Braided SS Hose (2)6" clamps, (3)3" clamps and a (3)1.5" clamp with gaskets Instruction Manual Specifications: 3"x 24" 304 Stainless Steel Material Tube 1lb (450g) 316 Stainless Steel Fully Encapsulated Miniature Ball Valves System Rated to 150PSI Multiple port connections for _" 316 Stainless JIC 37 Degree 304 Stainless Steel Base Container 6" diameter by 12" tall Tri-Clamps at all interfaces make for a high pressure, easy clean unit. • 2LB MK-V Orthrus Bidirectional Flow Closed Loop Extractor

2LB MK-V Orthrus Bidirectional Flow Closed Loop Extractor

***Note: Solvent not included with systems unless ordered separately. Any order with butane WILL NOT SHIP EXPEDITED.***   DISCLAIMER: This unit is intended for LEGAL purposes only, to be used in accordance with local laws and ordinances. Use only in extremely well-ventilated areas. Check with your local fire marshal for guidance when operating indoors   2LB MK-V Orthrus Bidirectional Flow Closed Loop Extractor (System comes with 1 yr. limited warranty)   The 2lb Bi-Directional closed loop increases efficiency by utilizing both a bottom and top solvent input. By using a bottom flood on the first wash to ensure all material has seen solvent, preventing channeling through the material. Finish the run with a top flood input to ensure all residuals have been washed from the material. Oil-bearing solvent is collected in the collection base under the material column. Once collected, the solvent is distilled and recovered, leaving the oils in the collection base. Elite:  The Elite series is our fully upgraded Orthrus model.  The elite series adds a level of dependability needed for those seeking to produce the highest quality extracts.   It features a larger bore on valves and hoses, all American instrumentation valves by SSP, an AVCO ultra-low temperature inline ball valve, jacketed collection base, and stainless steel LP tank.  Full dewaxing is guaranteed by combining both an injection coil and sleeved column.  Both units are packed with dry ice, making both solvent and material sub-zero temperatures. The Elite series boasts increased efficiency on both solvent input and recovery by bumping up all valves and lines to 3/8” JIC.  The jacketed collection gives precision during recovery, allowing a heated fluid to be circulated around the base.  This method keeps temperature both accurate and consistent. The stainless steel LP tank is able to be opened and cleaned, making solvent contamination a non-issue.*NOTE* This model requires a heater circulator or chiller       Explorer Professional Elite BVV 316SS Full Bore Valves Ball Valve Welded Bottom Base BVV 316SS Full Bore Valves Ball Valve Splatter Platter Base Injection Coil w/ hose SSP Valves Injection Coil Dewaxer AVCO Ball Valve Jacketed Base/Platter 3/8” Valves/Lines SSLP   This Unit Includes: Collection Base 10"x10" Welded Bottom Base Assembled 10" Hemispherical bi-flow lid 4"x24" Material column with reducer & top cap 4" filter plate kit 1.5" Solvent input manifold 1.5" Ball Valve #30 LP tank (2) 1/4" 48" High-Pressure PTFE Braided SS Hose 3/8" 48" High-Pressure PTFE Braided SS Hose 10" clamps, (3)4" clamps and a (3)1.5" clamp with gaskets (2)4" Gaskets w/ filter  Instruction Manual        *Note:  Column capacity may vary depending on the density of packed material and packing density. Capacity is calculated using the industry standard of 4.2g/in3.
