Each dish contains pre-sterilized potato dextrose agar (PDA) supplemented with a selective antibiotic and a blue stain that improves visibility of mycelial growth. Blue Antibiotic Agar Plates are designed to help suppress bacterial contamination during first transfers and initial isolation work. The blue tint enhances contrast, making mycelial edges easier to see and evaluate while working through unsterile material. Pre-poured agar plates offer many benefits over pouring your own dishes. In addition to convenience, they are also less likely to contaminate your cultures because they are poured in a lab under an industrial-grade flow hood. Our beginner-friendly ShroomTek All-In-One Mushroom Grow Bag + Spore Boostr was formulated by mycologists to simplify mushroom growing while maximizing the speed and size of your grow. (All that's required is a spore syringe or liquid culture!) The entire grow takes place inside the bag – from inoculation to colonization to flush – making the entire process both seamless and effortless. Speed up your grow with Spore Boostr! Each ShroomTek includes Spore Boostr (5 ml), a nutrient-rich broth that turns slow-growing spores into fast-growing liquid culture. Simply inject your spores into Spore Booster before inoculating your ShroomTek bag and allow them to germinate. After 1-2 weeks, when you see visible mycelium, it’s time to inject! As easy as inject, grow, harvest ShroomTek contains a proprietary blend of sterilized, nutrient-rich, organic manure-based compost, organic grain, coco coir, and several quality substrate supplements (although we keep the exact blend a secret!) Each bag is optimally hydrated for substrate mix and volume to ensure a healthy, well-hydrated environment for optimal mycelial growth. Our loose hydrated 'Myco Coco' coco coir was developed for superior mycelial growth and provides optimal pH, moisture retention, even gas exchange, and key trace minerals to your mushroom grow. The first coco coir researched and selected specifically for its mushroom cultivation qualities, Myco Coco can be used as both a casing layer and substrate additive. Triple-washed and buffered to adjust pH and nutrient levels, Myco Coco creates the ideal air-to-water ratio, making it ideal for cultivating gourmet and medicinal mushrooms. RHP certified to guarantee the highest substrate standards in the industry, it is naturally free of pests and weed seeds. Myco Coco is made from coconut husks, is biodegradable, and is a 100% renewable resource. It also contains traces of Magnesium and Calcium that contribute to the overall growth of mushrooms. How to use: As a casing layer: Coco coir should only be added to fully-colonized substrate covered in mycelium with well-developed primordia and/or pins beginning to form. Only a thin layer of coco coir (1/4 to 1/2 inch) is necessary. In bulk substrate: Combine coco coir with other ingredients to your bulk recipe at the desired quantity. Pasteurize or sterilize after combination. Pasteurizing: Coco coir is naturally resistant to bacteria. However, some users prefer to pasteurize it. Should you choose to do so, we recommend steam pasteurization or a water bath at 180 degrees for 1-2 hours. Once pasteurized, squeeze out excess water and allow to dry before use. These high airflow, ultra-thin filters give your substrate and mycelium fresh air while maintaining high humidity levels. Manufactured with a strong adhesive backing, these filters are made from PTFE membrane material and sized to fit over 3" holes. Filters are slightly larger than monotub holes and are designed to keep out foreign spores and other contaminants. Use them in place of polyfill for time savings, fast application, and better protection against unwanted contamination. North Spore Pre-Poured Sterile Agar Plates
These pre-poured sterile agar petri dishes are ideal for growing out fungal cultures, cloning wild mushroom specimens, and germinating fungal spores. Each dish contains pre-sterilized potato dextrose agar (PDA). Pre-poured agar plates offer many benefits over pouring your own dishes. In addition to convenience, they are also less likely to contaminate your cultures because they are poured in a lab under an industrial-grade flow hood. Storing unused plates: For best results, use plates as soon as possible after receiving them. Store unused plates upright, at room temperature, and away from direct sunlight in the original packaging, preferably in a clean secondary container. (Unused plates can be stored upside down in the fridge. However, this can lead to condensation on the lid which can increase contamination risk.)
