Sulfuric Acid 93% Technical / PC Grade

Our Sulfuric Acid 93% Technical Grade also conforms to PC (Printed Circuit Board) grade, because it conforms to high purity standards that can be verified on the certificate of analysis which makes this higher quality than industrial grades and contains less contaminates like iron and chloride making it suitable for use in manufacturing PC components. Sulfuric Acid is also know as Battery Acid or Oil of Vitriol.  This higher purity sulfuric acid 93% would work for replacing the acid in batteries.  This can be done but sulfuric acid is very dangerous to handle.   To make battery acid solution to revive a battery you would take 4 liters of reverse osmosis deionized water (BVV Ultrapure Water) to 1 liter of sulfuric acid 93%. Mix and let cool.  You will have 1250 gravity battery acid.  This refers to the specific gravity now being 1.250 and this is most commonly used for battery electrolyte for lead-acid batteries.   Sulfuric Acid Tech (Conforms to PC Grade) Safety Data Sheet (SDS) Sulfuric Acid Tech (Conforms to PC Grade) Certificate of Analysis (COA)

The Sulfuric Acid collection at BVV features high-concentration 93% Technical/PC Grade acid, engineered for heavy-duty industrial and laboratory applications. As one of the most widely used chemicals in the world, Sulfuric Acid is a fundamental reagent for precious metal refining, chemical synthesis, and industrial cleaning. Our 93% concentration provides the aggressive oxidizing power needed for stripping metals and managing complex chemical reactions.

Beyond refining, this grade is commonly utilized for pH adjustment in large-scale water treatment and as an electrolyte in lead-acid battery maintenance. We support high-volume facilities by offering scalable packaging options, including individual bottles, cases, and bulk 55-gallon drums. With BVV’s Midwest shipping hub, you can rely on fast, compliant Hazmat logistics to keep your industrial operations running without interruption.

What is the concentration of your Sulfuric Acid?

We stock 93% concentration Sulfuric Acid. This is a highly concentrated technical grade, often referred to as "concentrated sulfuric acid," suitable for a wide range of industrial and refining applications.

What does "PC Grade" mean?

PC Grade (or Photo-Chemical Grade) indicates a level of purity suitable for industrial processes that require consistent quality and low metallic impurities, such as metal etching and specialized refining.

How is Sulfuric Acid used in metal refining?

Sulfuric acid is used to dissolve base metals and is a key component in the refining of gold, silver, and copper. It is also utilized in the creation of various sulfates and as a catalyst in chemical synthesis.

Can this acid be used for lead-acid battery maintenance?

Yes. At 93% concentration, this acid can be carefully diluted to the appropriate specific gravity for use as battery electrolyte in industrial lead-acid batteries.

What are the safety precautions for 93% Sulfuric Acid?

Sulfuric Acid is highly corrosive and reacts violently with water. Always add acid to water (never water to acid) to prevent splashing. Wear acid-resistant PPE, including gloves, aprons, and full-face shields.

Do you offer 55-gallon drums of Sulfuric Acid?

Yes. We specialize in bulk chemical supply for industrial operations. Contact our sales team for tiered pricing and freight quotes for 55-gallon drums and IBC totes.

How should Sulfuric Acid be stored?

Store in a cool, dry, well-ventilated area in a dedicated corrosive cabinet. It must be kept away from strong bases, organic materials, and chlorates to avoid hazardous reactions.

Is Sulfuric Acid the same as "Drain Opener"?

While some drain openers contain sulfuric acid, industrial-grade 93% Sulfuric Acid is much more concentrated and pure. It is designed for laboratory and industrial use rather than household plumbing.

Why is BVV the best choice for industrial acids?

Based in Illinois, our Midwest hub provides faster transit times for Hazmat chemicals to the East Coast and Central US, ensuring your production line never stops due to shipping delays.
