The BVV team is excited to announce the addition of a state-of-the-art research, development, and educational lab which will open towards the end of October, 2020. The 2,000 square-foot lab will be used to bench test equipment, as a classroom for educational courses for customers, and to process BVV hemp-derived products. The BVV team is striving to improve product quality and refine processes through data collection and analytics so we can better support our customers. The new lab will equip the team with the tools to do just this. In addition to improving products, the lab will be used as a space to educate and inform customers on products and best practices. BVV University

Our new 18.5’ x 30.5’ classroom will allow us to gear up any customers interested in learning about processing and our equipment. We will begin all classes with a presentation on the safety precautions prior to entering the lab. The safety of our customers and employees is the utmost importance. After safety training, you can jump into any of the courses we will be offering at BVV University

C1D1 Extraction Booth

BVV Labs features a 10’ x 10’ x 8.5’ HAL extraction booth used to perform hydrocarbon-based extraction in a safe manner. In our booth, we plan to test new extraction and recovery systems to facilitate customer troubleshooting and break bottlenecks of the recovery process. In this space, we will also be providing hydrocarbon and refinement courses for all BHO processors.

Walk-in Fume Hoods

Fume hoods will be installed throughout the lab space for extraction and post-processing capabilities. There are two 86.5” x 39.5” x 121.5” and one 86.5” x 39.5” x 81” fume hoods with individual ventilation. Fume hoods feature a sliding front door for easy installation and removal of equipment. They are UL recognized and have a self-extinguishing feature. Small batch hemp extraction via centrifuge will be performed in this C1D2 fume hood. Other uses include solvent recovery via rotary evaporators, falling film, and reaction vessels. These too will be used for educational courses in ethanol extraction, reactions, solvent recovery, and other processes.

Tabletop Fume Hood

Our Tabletop Fume Hood will be used for short path distillation. It features 86.5” X 39.5” X 40.5” work area, UL recognition, and self-extinguishing capability. Here we will be operating our 10L Premium Short Path Distillation Kit.

Polyscience Chiller

BVV Labs chilling is powered by a 38.7kW at 35°C, 10 HP Polyscience chiller. This chiller will be used to run multiple rotary evaporators or a falling film evaporator.

Analytics Equipment

In order to really understand what we are doing during processing, we have invested lab space towards analytical equipment. The Gas Chromatography SRI 310C will allow us to test the potency of biomass and concentrates. This will help hone in processing performed at BVV Labs.
