Silicone has an excellent chemical resistance to alcohols and is the preferred gasket material when using Jacketed Reactors or Tri-Clamp Buchner funnels for post-processing winterization because they have very low extractable characteristics. Silicone gaskets also offer a very good temperature range and will retain their original shape even when compressed for a long duration. ***Note: Silicone is not recommended for use with butane or propane solvents.
