When n-Heptane is added to ethanol it creates an azeotrope between the ethanol and n-heptane. An azeotrope is defined as a mixture of two liquids that have a constant boiling point and composition through distillation. This azeotrope results in the ethanol and n-heptane evaporating at the same temperature, making it extremely difficult to separate the two through distillation. While these azeotropic solvents are still easily recovered from a botanical extract at a relatively low boiling point around 78C/173F using a rotary evaporator or falling film evaporator, it is near impossible to separate the two via distillation. What is an Azeotrope? An azeotrope is a mixture characterized by having identical concentrations in both its vapor and liquid phases. This stands in contrast to ideal solutions, where one component is usually more volatile than the other, allowing for separation through distillation. When an azeotrope forms, the concentrations in both phases remain the same, hindering separation through traditional distillation methods. This system keeps the small batch quality that the Lowtemp V2 system is known for, but is perfect for scaling up production to almost any level.    Pump Options Explained P1000 Premium Hand Pump- Available up to 3 presses. This option is great for those looking for the delicate precision our hand pumps are known for while still having massive processing power.   PA1500 Air Pump- Available up to 4 presses. The air pump option is fantastic for people looking for automation. Since the PA1500 moves a lot of oil pretty quickly, we don't recommend using it for bubble flower pressing under 2-3 presses. However, when split across multiple presses, it's actually really great for bubble Flower pressing and becomes very easy to press Flower with. We recommend at least a 30 gallon air compressor with 110-175 psi. Bigger is better in regards to your air compressor in this case.    PE102 Electric Pump- Available up to 4 presses. The electric option is also automated, and pressure is applied with the flick of a switch. Again, we do not recommend using 1 or 2 presses on Flower or other concentrates since the flow rate is relatively high (quick pressure application), unless you have a lot of experience pressing. Using proper bagging techniques makes it entirely possible. No air compressor is needed, only a 110v plug! Super simple and very quiet.    Number of Presses Explained Manifolds come in 2 port, 4 port, and 5 port. Every port comes with a quick connect already attached, which makes the ability to disconnect and add more presses in the future as easy as threading a quick connect!
